In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Spotless rooms and meticulous housekeeping — Guests repeatedly mention the outstanding cleanliness, with one calling it the cleanest hotel they've ever stayed in.
  • Fantastic breakfast spread — The breakfast buffet earns high praise for its variety, from pastries and omelettes to several types of sausage and cheese, plus a range of coffee options.
  • Quiet yet central location — On a calm side street near Gran Vía, with Santo Domingo metro a 5-minute walk away, offering both convenience and peace.
  • Attentive and helpful staff — From room upgrades to last-minute room changes, staff are consistently described as friendly, efficient, and genuinely accommodating.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Coffee at reception disappoints — While complimentary champagne, water, and jelly beans are offered, the capsule coffee has been described as 'not very tasty'.
  • Street-facing rooms can be noisy — Rooms with balconies overlooking the street offer city views, but some guests note that courtyard rooms would be quieter.
  • Small rooms for some — While family rooms are spacious, standard double rooms may feel compact if you plan to spend much time indoors.
  • Parking is an extra cost — On-site parking is available, but it's likely paid, as is typical for central Madrid. Guests should confirm the daily rate.

“The hotel is super central. The staff were really accommodating, even upgrading our room, which was a lovely surprise. The room was tidy and had a nice balcony that offered a peaceful escape after a busy day.”

“Really enjoyed my business trip stay. The staff were friendly, efficient, and genuinely helpful, which was a definite plus. Boiled eggs, bread, and fruit were much appreciated. The location was fantastic, with a big square within walking distance. I didn't want to leave, so I'd recommend it.”

“Pleasantly surprised by the hotel—breakfast was beyond praise, I loved everything!”

“The hotel is fabulously located near Gran Vía. My room was nice and neat, and the attentive staff were helpful with local recommendations.”

“Generally liked almost everything (didn't try breakfast though). We had a family room of 24m2. Freshly renovated, comfortable rooms, good quality plumbing. There's parking right in the same building (which is rare for central Madrid). The location is just great—a quiet street with grocery stores nearby, and a police headquarters close by so you can walk back at night without worry. It's a 3-minute walk to the main street with restaurants, Starbucks, and big shops. Jelly beans, coffee, and champagne are offered in the reception area (though the coffee isn't great, to put it mildly, and champagne appears in the afternoon). Would safely recommend this hotel.”

“Excellent location. Everything is nearby, and you can safely choose this hotel if you don't spend much time in your room. It's clean, and I liked that there's a Bluetooth system so you can play music via the room speakers. In our case, it was good that the room faced the street and had a balcony—couldn't ask for better. I also saw the courtyard view rooms and think it would be different if I'd gotten one. There's really water, a few sweets, and shampoo in the lobby—it's good.”
